About Galden® D02

Galden® D02 TS PFPE Electronic Reliability Testing Fluid

Galden® D02 TS is a dual-purpose PFPE dielectric fluid engineered for MIL-standard single-fluid thermal shock testing. Its thermal properties deliver reliable hot- and cold-step performance in one bath, reducing cross-contamination, fluid consumption, and downtime.

Its combination of high dielectric strength, low viscosity, and exceptional chemical inertness makes D 02 TS ideal for electronic reliability and burn-in testing where stability, cleanliness, and safety are critical. The fluid’s non-flammable, non-reactive PFPE chemistry ensures long service life and residue-free parts across demanding laboratory and production environments.

Galden® D02 TS is an excellent replacement for 3M Novec FC 40, FC43, and FC77 fluids.

Primary Applications

Single-fluid thermal shock (MIL)
Meets MIL-STD-883 (Method 1011) and MIL-STD-202 (Method 107). One fluid can serve both hot and cold baths, cutting consumption, cross-contamination, and downtime; typical hot steps to ~200 °C and cold steps to −65 °C/−195 °C (per qualified conditions).

Liquid Burn-In Testing — Dielectric Heat-Transfer Bath
Electrically insulating, chemically inert bath for powered device soak. High dielectric strength and thermal stability support uniform temperatures and residue-free parts post-test.

Secondary Applications

High-Voltage / Hipot Soak & Flashover Screening
Use D02TS as an insulating bath where ~40 kV dielectric strength, low εr (~2.1), and high volume resistivity are critical.

Carrier Fluid for Penetrants (NDT / Liquid Penetrant Concepts)
Low surface tension and low viscosity aid wetting/penetration; controlled volatility supports easy removal after inspection.

Trace-Residue Elimination & Inspection Rinse
Low viscosity enables tight-gap flushing; inert chemistry leaves surfaces clean and dry.

Custom Liquid Cooling in Test Rigs & Fixtures
Stable thermophysical properties for closed or open liquid baths at moderate-high setpoints.

Chemical Processing & Aerospace Test Support (Property-Based Fit)
Inert, non-flammable, electrically insulating liquid for lab/fixture heat-transfer around reactive substances or environmental tests.

Product Line Details: Galden® PFPE

Galden® PFPE electronic fluids is a line of dielectric fluids with boiling points ranging from 55 °C to 270 °C. Their excellent dielectric properties, high chemical and thermal stability combined with their capacity to operate at very low as well as elevated temperatures make them ideal for electronic quality testing. Fluids non-reactivity, excellent dielectric properties, nontoxicity, non-flammability and non-solvent features make Galden® PFPE electronic fluids suitable for electronic reliability testing including thermal shock and hermetic seal testing.
